Of all the stuff I've discovered this year, nothing has been more unexpected or enjoyable than Paul White. I can't even remember exactly how I stumbled upon the London beat maker, but I do know it was blind chance.
White's Strange Dreams of..., released this summer on One Handed Music, is a bizarre, Alice-In-Wondererland amalgamation of prog-rock, BBC programming, vintage psychedelia and Saturday television. A loopy, avant garde take on formula-plagued hip hop construction.
Now he's giving away half of his forthcoming album for FREE!.
Here I basically just write about whatever I'm into at the moment. Mostly it's music, but also some books and a good political rant every now and then, circumstances warranting. I'll post links to audio I think is worth downloading, but basically, it's just self-indulgence in the typical fashion of web 2.0 user generated content. This is blogging after all, a bare minimum amount of narcissism is implied, is it not?
